Mary C. Kidd, CMP, CAE, Owner

Mary began her nonprofit career at the Virginia Society of CPAs, where she worked for ten years as a member of the continuing education department and the management team. Her responsibilities at the then 7000-member association included working with numerous member committees, developing all of the off-site programs, assisting with membership and public relations efforts, and serving on various staff teams to develop new member programs and policies.
She next spent fifteen years working as an Account Manager at Catapult, Inc., an association management company in Richmond, Virginia. During her tenure at Catapult, Mary worked with a number of clients including: the Central Virginia Chapter, Association of Fundraising Professionals; the Virginia Association of Fundraising Executives; the Virginia Chapter, American Society of Landscape Architects; the Virginia Chapter Financial Executives International; the Virginia Chapter Meeting Professionals International; the Virginia Fund Raising Institute; the Virginia Housing Coalition; and the Virginia Public Health Association.
She formed Halcyon Management in early 2015, specializing in services for small associations emerging from all-volunteer management or seeking a high level of customer support on a limited budget.
Mary became a Certified Meeting Professional in 1996 and earned her Certified Association Executive designation in January 2015. She has been a member of the local chapter of Meeting Professionals International since 1994, serving as the newsletter editor as well as a member of the Board of Directors for two years. In 2000 she was awarded VAMPI’s Meeting Planner of the Year Award. From May 2004 until May 2007 she served as VAMPI’s Executive Director, during which time the group won two Chapter of the Year Awards from the international parent organization.
Mary received a B.A. in history from the College of William and Mary.
